Happy Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday

Just Yesterday we went to Bakersfield to celebrate Katherine's 1st Birthday!!
Birthday Girl with her Daddy (aka Jacob)

So cute posing for pictures. :)

Grandma Pollock always bring the best toys!

New toy from Gma and Gpa Pollock

Jacob cooking us all a yummy lunch

"It's my party and I can cry if I want to"

Mommy opening the presents cause Katherine fell asleep

Quintin found a cup of lemonade...yummy

The cake we didn't get to see her eat cause we couldn't wait around for Katherine to wake up. :( Too bad I wanted to see her eat it!!

Ian enjoyed the cupcakes :)

While you were sleeping

Last Sunday I put Jared in charge of the kids so I could take a much needed nap. He put Quintin in his high chair and gave him some snacks and then put on a movie for Ian, that is how he babysits. Then he proceeded to "work" on his computer. Needless to say, I woke up to this....

How did that happen you say? Ian decided to get into the chocolate pudding that was in the fridge. I should have taken pictures of the fridge cause it looked just like Quintin's chair. Ian got caught by Jared as he was putting the pudding back into the fridge, thinking that we might never notice if he puts it back. At least he thought of sharing with his brother. :) Or he was thinking, "If I am going to get in trouble, I want brother right there with me."

Working with what I got

This is my attempt at taking cute pics of the kids. Quintin was a little more cooperative than Ian was. Ian is at the stage where he doesn't like getting his picture taken. Oh well.

Easter

This year because Jared had to go out of town for a business trip we opted to have Easter at our house that way he could spend every last second with us until he flew out later that night. I never like to host things because it costs us way to much money and our house is always a mess but this time around I loved every minute. So what if we spent a lot preparing for it, so what that our house looks like the Easter bunny had a raging party!! I had so much fun and I do not have one single complaint!!

This is the kids eating their Easter basket cupcakes.

We opted for an Easter BBQ cause jared and I were so sick of ham and turkey from the holidays! It was the best idea ever!! You eat outside and cook outside their is virtually no mess!! P.S. Katelyn loves to model food. :)

Ian was a pro at finding easter eggs. While others stopped to eat the candy in the egg he kept going. It is all about quantity with that kid. :)

Getting ready to go find eggs.

Our attempt to take a kids picture is like herding cats but this picture I think shows everyones personality.

Dying easter eggs

Auntie Liz having way to much fun

Egg hunt at the park

Today with my mom's group we had our Easter Egg Hunt in the park and it was wonderful. The kids got a glimpse of what is to come on Easter and Quintin got to participate in his first hunt. He was a little slow so most of the eggs were taken but a lot of the kids shared with him. Ian was a riot. He gathered so many and consumed the candy hidden inside just as quick. It was a beautiful day besides. :)

911

Today was park day. We were all so excited to go. When we got there and got out of the car I realized no one was there. I knew I had the wrong part of the park but I couldn't find the other playground. I put Ian in the car and went to get Quintin who was playing in the sand. I realized Quintin had only one shoe on, so I was frantically searching for his shoe. I went to put Quintin in the car to look more for his shoe and there it was right next to the car. It must have fallen off when we got out.
Unbeknownst to me at that time, Ian has crawled into the front seat and closed my door and locked it. Did I mention my keys were on the seat? For about 15 minutes I tried to coax Ian into unlocking the door. He had done it millions of times before but of course he couldn't do it now. I called a locksmith and they said if a child is locked in the car I have to call the police. Great.
So for the first time in my life I called 911. Good thing I had my cell phone in my pocket. The dispatcher wasn't sure who to dispatch it to, the Sheriff's department or the fire department. The Sheriff's department took the call and dispatched the fire department.
I only had to wait less than 5 minutes and a great big yellow fire truck came pulling into the parking lot of the park. Thank goodness the sirens weren't blaring. The firemen jimmied my door open and the first thing Ian said was "Yeah!!" and jumped out of the car. He gave the fireman a big hi-five and one of the fireman informed us his name was Ian too!! I will never leave my keys out of my sight again. Hope you enjoy the pics I took with my phone. :)

April Fools

I don't believe in April fools day anymore. Last year I told my boss I was pregnant and was due right before thanksgiving so I would be gone the entire holiday season and.....it turned out to be true!! I was pregnant and I didn't know until 2 weeks later!! No more April Fools for me!!
