Temple Square Adventure

We decided to go up to Salt Lake as a family and visit Temple Square. To make it even more fun we decided to take the bus/trax to get there. That was an adventure in and of itself!!

Waiting for the bus. There were 2 buses that came before the bus we needed and Ian said, "we missed the bus!" Then when the second one left he said, "we missed the bus again!!"

When we got to Salt Lake we went to the Gateway Mall to eat lunch. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get there. :) If we drove with no traffic it would take about 40 minutes.  But where is the adventure in that?

The Tabernacle 

We stayed for the cool acoustics demonstration where a Sister missionary spoke without a microphone, tore a piece of paper, dropped straight pins and a nail. Amazing!!

In the South visitor center they have a cool diorama of the Salt Lake Temple so you can see how all the rooms fit into the temple.

They had a hospital nursery(random) so you can play with the babies and play doctor. My boys could care less about the babies. They wanted the doctor stuff!!

Quintin would not stand still so that is why he is blurry in everything.

Then we got back on the Trax/bus and headed home. What a fun family adventure we had!! 

Lagoon

The family and I were invited to spend the day at Lagoon, the only amusement park here in Utah. We kind of have mixed feelings about the place and are not sure if we will go back again. There were definite pros and cons but over all we did have an enjoyable day.

Right when we got there we decided to have lunch because it was 1pm by this time. Now let me explain this cool set up. We went with our sis-in-law who works for Harmon's(a grocery store out here) for their Harmon days at Lagoon. We got tons of free food and drink!! This is what made it worth it.

In line at the kiddie rides. This is one thing I did not like about Lagoon. They have a lot of kid ride but unlike Disneyland the adults can't ride them.

They did have a cute train ride that took you through the "zoo". I use that word lightly but they did have some cute animals.

Ok. This was the redeeming part of it all. There was a pioneer village that was so cool. They had all these little shops/stores that had old time stuff like they would of had in that time period. i.e. blacksmith shop, carriage house, dentist, train depot. I loved seeing all the old time stuff!!

This is in the carriage house. They had at least 25 different carriages from the 1800s. This is a hearse. I know; I'm obsessed. They had an old Wells Fargo wagon, different carriages from different classes of people and even one horse open sleighs. It was fascinating.

We also got free balloon animals complementary of Harmons. They had face painting too but it was too hot and I didn't want it to melt off the boys' faces.

Quintin wanted a monkey. They didn't last. They both popped before we got home. 

Ian was eating cotton candy and made a mustache. It was funnier than this because he ate part of it before I could take the picture. 

Ian and daddy rode the people movers over the park while Quintin and I waited.

It was getting so hot so we let the boys run through the fountain.  They got soaking wet but because I am  prepared mommy I had a change of clothes for them both. :) 

All in all we had a fun memorable day but we sure do miss Disneyland. :(

4th of July on the 5th

I am so grateful I live in a place that is so patriotic. They fight for freedom, honor God, and respect and love everyone around them. I am proud to be an American and am thankful for all those who fight for our country.

Today on the 5th of July we all celebrated the 4th. We went to the Provo Parade for the first time ever. It was better than I thought it was going to be!! enjoy the pics.
