Spring Break

Our adventure begins Monday night the 29th of March. We just got word that a storm was going to come through Utah on wednesday and thursday so I had to make a snap decision and leave 2 days before I was planning to to beat the storm. After we got there for the next few days it rained and snowed!! So much for a warm spring break.

This is what I woke up to every morning for days!! It snowed almost 30 inches in the mountains!!

FRIDAY

On Friday we celebrated Jennifer's birthday and went to Chili's

Then we went back to the house to open presents

Mine was the best present. :) We watched it that night.

And we had yummy cupcakes.

SATURDAY

Then Conference rolled around on Saturday and we were lazy.

Quintin learned how to play Sudoku.

Then on Saturday between conferences we dyed eggs.

Quintin got more dye on himself than the eggs.

Our cute eggs.

My mom and I attempted to make bunny cakes for a fun Easter dessert.
It was a hit on Easter.

Jared flew in late Saturday night so he could join in the festivities. I'm not going to mention out near death experience. If involves a huge snowstorm and not being able to see.

SUNDAY

After Conference we had our Easter egg hunt.
This was Quintin's first year because last year he slept through it last year.

Ian would open the eggs and see if he liked what was inside. If he didn't he put it back for someone else to find. Quality not quantity. :)

Easter baskets!! Score!!

Getting ready for dinner. Jennifer and I are getting into the Easter spirit.

This picture says it all

The boys posing with their old man hats and golf clubs.

Quintin didn't want to take pictures anymore but we made him.

While the adults were chatting away after dinner the boys found a way to entertain themselves.

MONDAY
We took a family outing to Cabella's

Jared flew out tuesday night to get back to work.

After the weather cleared up we had a fun outing to Gardener's Village
Eating at Archibald's

Visiting the petting zoo

I splurged and bought them a donut

Having fun trying to find the ducks.

We drove back on Saturday after 12 long days of vacation. We were ready to go home so we could start cleaning and packing for the move. Hope you enjoyed out Easter montage!!

Late night ER trip

Jared and I were just getting ready to have our fun night in together. We has just finished watching Vampire Diaries and were getting ready to watch a movie when we heard Quintin coughing like a seal and then he starting crying.  I ran in there to see him throwing up and trying to catch his breath. So we decided to rush him to the ER to see what is wrong. He had pneumonia last month and wanted to make sure it wasn't something associated with that. So after X-Rays and breathing treatments and steroids he was diagnosed with the croup. We were glad it wasn't anything too scary. My poor baby. We were there until after midnight so when we got home we hit a wall and slept.

Here he is at home on the couch not wanting me to take a picture of him. :(

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Since my children are part Irish (not me at all) I thought it would be a good idea to "celebrate" St. Patrick's Day with our family. Ian kept telling me, It's not Patrick's day it's Sponge Bob Day. Once again another thing that too much TV has ruined. :) Anyways, I am fully against corned beef  as well as dying your food an unnatural color so we went with stuffed bell peppers for dinner. The boys actually loved it!! I have to admit I was a little worried if they would even try them but they did, and it helped if you hold dessert over their heads. For dessert we had green lime sherbet with 7-UP. Super yummy. Oh and some "homemade" shamrock cookies. All in all we had a fun and memorable dinner.

5 years and counting

I can not believe that it has been 5 years since I married my best friend.  It all started the week I got home from my mission. I didn't think I would meet my future husband so soon but when it is meant to be it is meant to be. The first time I saw Jared was at a movie night at a mutual friends house. I had gotten up to leave because I had to be somewhere early the next day. After I stood up I saw him sitting with his back against the couch and my heart skipped a beat. Since I had already gotten up to leave I couldn't exactly sit back down again, so I took my chances and left and hoped I would see him again. Well as luck would have it I did see him again that following Thursday and Friday and Sunday. Then he went out of town to Mammoth for a week and didn't tell his family about me at all. After he got back into town we had our first official date to Santa Barbara and we spent every day together since that day. We got married March 11, 2005 for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple.
No here we are 5 years later celebrating with 2 kids!! A lot can happen in 5 years. I love you Jared.

This is my 20 lbs bouquet. My arms we super buff after carrying it round all day.

I had to throw in a picture of my cake because it was so yummy and we designed it ourselves!!
